Samsung Galaxy Nexus is truly a phone with a difference and we’re going to tell you why. Google Nexus is a symbol of growth and progress. It is good to see phones of this quality coming out every now and then. And yes this quality and innovation is expected when it is a product of the great “nexus” between Samsung and Google.

Galaxy Nexus has a human style and edge; it fits comfortably into the palm despite the large screen size. Every leading Samsung phone has been stretching the screen size limits, and Galaxy Nexus has taken the screen size to 4.65 inches. The phone also has an elegant complete black front.

Another massive change is the disappearance of the physical touch navigation buttons and the Home button. These buttons were literally glued to every other Smart phone coming out from the Samsung stable.

Now all these buttons have been moved onto the onscreen navigation. This phone has the fewest physical buttons in comparison to any device before it.  So the front face is like a clean black smooth slate with a front facing camera and a small earpiece. The notification light is positioned below the phone and glows when you receive a missed call, text or email.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is once again like all other Samsung smart phones devoid of metal, it has a complete plastic frame.  And the Samsung logo has moved to the rear of the phone. There is no microSD slot, and the headphone jack along with the micro USB charge port resides at the bottom of the phone. There is a lot of thought put into this phone, the position of the headphone jack will allow you to pick up the phone from your pocket in the same way you dropped it in there.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Processor and Storage

There is a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core processor embedded in the phone, which is not that remarkable. Bundled along with the processor is 32 GB of internal storage and 1 GB RAM. The rear camera is 5 Megapixel and the secondary camera is 1.3 Megapixel. The Galaxy Nexus has a great camera with a good shutter speed, and your images continuously keep getting refocused as you adjust your shot.

Frankly speaking the technical specifications are ordinary and there is nothing path breaking out here with regards to the memory.

Galaxy Nexus comes with some new features like a near field communications chip (NFC) and barometer. Only time will tell how effectively these can be used. Samsung Galaxy Nexus also has a wireless charging capability which will allow it to plug into a dock and charge without having to plug it in anywhere.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a Super Amoled display and is built around the HD resolution. This is the first phone to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and there is a marked improvement in the look, feel and operation of the Operating System.

Best part is that nearly all apps old and new are still compatible with Ice Cream Sandwich. In the new interface you can swipe away notifications and old tasks from the new multitasking menu. Android 4.0 will be the first version of Android to run on both tablets and phones. Google has worked on the settings menu, reorganizing it into more logical categories and adding things like data-usage tracking and better battery and app management.

From the Unlock Screen you can access the camera or the phone, the camera does take a bit of time to load. In terms of the battery life, we have scary news for you, as the battery gets drained in nearly 8 hours while the usage is high to medium.

On the whole Nexus is a very positive phone, with more than just a couple of good features. It has NFC, dual core processing and high speed 4G capabilities with an awesome new look. It is a great phone to hold and any short term chinks in its armor will be ironed out by Google in no time.
