NEC is one of the largest GSM phone maker in the Japan. Thus, it is also one of the large supplier for DoCoMo. Now, they also in progress to supply other GSM operator, Softbank Mobile.
Besides that, they are planning to make a phone that be able to run under CDMA network, which is owned by second largest operator in Japan, KDDI. It is one of the move taken to fulfill their goal on achieving 45% raise of phone shipment this year.
Senior Vice President Takao Ono responded, "It will take some time before we ship handsets to KDDI Corp".
