MIT class create 7 Android applications

Last January, MIT created special class to create application for Google's Android contest. Now is May, any result from the class after 5 months? Indeed they have, not 1 or 2, they unveil 7 products, based on Java Mobile Edition, as result.

Here are brief explanation of the 7 applications:

  • Loco: social network built from contact manager. We can track and view friends from Google Maps
  • Flare: tracking system, based on geolocation. We can track anything, from truck, to pizza delivery or even tracking your chicks
  • GeoLife: to-do list, built on top of Google Maps. Remember anything anywhere
  • Locale: dynamic setting manager. The phone setting is set differently based on time and location
  • Re:public: location based social network program
  • Snap: kind of social bookmarking on top of Google Maps. Tag an attractive place, up or down
  • KEI: virtual key for all stuffs, including turning on the car or opening the door. Can be encrypted using 128 bits key.
